I am the on-site liaison for Short-Term Missions and Outreach at Welcome Home Outreach Ministries in Vicente Guerrero, Baja CA, Mexico. Welcome Home Outreach is a year round pre-school for mainly single moms who work out in the fields. We also host short-term missions groups from the states and also Canada. They come here to do several different projects. They will build homes, serve in the community, we have a dental team who cleans teeth, vacation Bible school, make meals for local shelters, etc.
My main “job” at Welcome Home Outreach is to serve here full time to host groups, work with them in the community, help the pre-school where needed, help in community where needed and to be the English speaking person on campus to help when people or groups come. I started coming down to this community around 12 years now. I started coming with my church 12 years ago last June. Our church comes each year in the summer for a week and builds a house. Around 5 years ago, I began to feel the calling to step out and pray about serving outside of my hometown community. I am very much a “home body,” so to surrender to the Lords calling on where ever He would lead was such a step of faith for me. A few years ago I was asked to pray about serving here at WHO full time. I was at the place of being ready to answer the call. Each day serving here at WHO has been a new adventure of fully relying on the Lords provision and blessings. We have so many people and needs that come to our facility each day as the area where I am serving is a hard working, but poor area. It is such a blessing to see how the Lord provides for each need.
