Deneen is a veteran Social Worker and specialist in providing healing care to victims of trauma.  She spent several years managing a safe house for victims of Human Trafficking and currently serves as the Director of Family-Based Care with Step Ahead Foundation. Step Ahead partners with the government and local NGOs in Thailand to respond to and meet the needs of vulnerable children and families. In this role she two primary responsibilities,

1. oversee the development of a foster care program serving children impacted by human trafficking, immigration detention, and domestic abuse and neglect and
2. serve the Social Workforce in Thailand by developing workshops to increase the knowledge and skills necessary to expand their child protection response and services to children and families.

As Thailand embarks on the monuments task of build a child protection system, Deneen's years of experience in child welfare in the United States have uniquely positioned her to be a resource and serve the country in meaningful ways.
