GJ and Katie are serving in Northern Uganda together with their two boys, Benjamin and Isaiah.

GJ is serving in a few different roles, mostly centered around Hope Alive!, a child sponsor organization. His main focus is discipleship and business training and overseeing a micro loan program. He also tutors Hope Alive! students in math, assists with Hope Alive!'s accounting, oversees some agricultural projects, and helps out with a small BAM/B4T focused on providing solar energy to people without access to electricity.

Kate is teaching at a Teachers Training College run by an organization call Read for Life. It is a 2 year program that trains students to be early childhood educators, and when they are finished they receive a diploma from an accredited university. She has taught there since 2017, it is a part-time position equaling about 10-15 hours a week as she meets with the staff and her co-teacher, lesson plans and teaches every Saturday afternoon. It's been a great fit for her to be involved in an amazing organization that is making major strides in improving the quality of education offered to children in Gulu.
