When an individual wades in to The Mission Stream

The Mission Stream for the Individual

Here at Shepherd’s Staff, we regularly refer to what we call The Mission Stream.  It describes both the ongoing flow of God’s love for all people, and what entering into the stream looks like when individuals and local churches grasp the reality that the God of the bible is the Missionary God.

Today’s podcast is titled the Individual Flow. Continuing with the analogy of the stream, we’ll discuss how an individual within a local church wades in to the flow of The Mission Stream and the influence it exerts on them.

Resources we mention in this podcast:

  1. Prayer Cast
  2. Joshua Project
  3. Bruchko
  4. Amy Carmichael, God’s Missionary
  5. On Being a Missioanry
  6. For the Glory: Eric Liddell’s Journey from Olympic Champion to Modern Martyr

Enjoyed listening to the podcast today from Guayaquil, Ecuador. I agree with what you bring up about there being two tasks: those who go, or supporting those who go. We are working hard to help the Ecuadorian Church to understand that, they too, are to either go, for facilitate those who go. Good thoughts.

Thanks for the word of encouragement Guy. Regardless of language, ethnicity, nationality, culture, or economic status, challenging every follower of Jesus regardless of how long they have been walking with Him, to participate in His global plans is crucial–helping them find their place as a sender or a goer is definitely what’s best for them.
